After paying out over $11 million for abusing teenagers in New Jersey (see Newton and abuse), Straight's former national clincial director, the Right Reverend Doctor Virgil Miller Newton has joined the International Scientific and Medical Forum on Drug Abuse. ISMFDA is a division of Drug Free America Foundation. In 1995 Straight Foundation, Inc. changed its name to Drug Free America Foundation. Besides Dr. Newton the Forum includes former Straight consultant Robert DuPont, M.D. who is also on DFAF's Advisory Board (Dr. DuPont represented Straight in many of its civil suits for abuse); Donald Ian Macdonald, M.D., Straight's former national medical research director; and Richard Schwartz, M.D., former medical research director at Straight-Springfield. Newton, DuPont, Schwartz and Macdonald are also members of the International Drug Strategy Institute which is a division of Drug Watch International. Calvina Fay is executive director of DFAF and a past president of Drug Watch International. Stephanie Haynes is another DWI past president. She is a former member of Betty Sembler's S.O.S. She is president of the Drug Prevention Network of the Americas, an organization that has teamed up with DFAF on many initiatives. See IDSI
